Among the world’s strongest brands on the market

Hamelin is one of the world’s leading companies in the production and distribution of office supplies, lighting and bags for business travellers.

We offer the industry’s broadest product range – including our brands Elba, Oxford, Bantex, Linex, Pelikan, Herlitz and Unilux, all of which are among the strongest on the market.

We consistently strive to deliver products of the highest quality, using raw materials and production aids with the lowest possible environmental impact.

That is why, for example, all our paper products come from sustainably managed forests, where responsible stewardship of forest resources is ensured.

A proud French history

Hamelin’s heritage dates back to 1864, when Ernest Hamelin founded the company Hamelin & Fils in the French town of Gardin in Normandy.

At that time, the company focused on the production of registers and account books. After World War II, however, his grandson Robert Hamelin shifted the company’s focus to also include the production of exercise books and notebooks.

Throughout the 1980s, Hamelin grew to become a market leader in the manufacture of school supplies and office products in France.

In the 1990s, Stéphane Hamelin, together with Jacques Piattier and Francis Werner, began expanding the group across the European market through the acquisition of other companies.

At the beginning of the new millennium, the Danish office supplies company Bantex was acquired. Bantex had itself acquired well-known companies such as Linex and Elba, while Unilux joined the group at a later stage.
