What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website can place on your computer if your browser settings (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome or Safari) allow it.
A cookie is not a program and is harmless in itself. A cookie is used, for example, to:
- Keep track of your visit – a so-called session – on www.hamelin.dk, such as which items you place in the shopping cart. Such a session cookie is automatically deleted after your visit.
- Create statistics about which pages a user views, whether the user has visited the website before, etc. This is done using a cookie that contains a number which can be used for statistical purposes.
- Store settings, for example whether certain information has been shown to users or items added to a shopping cart.
Cookies are used on almost all websites. In some cases, cookies are the only way to ensure that a website functions as intended.
You can read more below about cookies and which cookies we use on www.hamelin.dk.
Our use of cookies
Cookies are necessary for the website to function. Cookies also help us gain insight into your visit to the website so that we can continuously optimise and tailor the website to your needs and interests.
Without cookies, we would not be able to compile statistics on the website and thereby improve usability.

How to reject or delete cookies
Rejecting cookies
You can always reject cookies on your computer by changing the settings in your browser. Where you find these settings depends on which browser you are using.
Please note that if you do so, there will be many functions and services you cannot use, as they require the website to remember the choices you make.
Deleting cookies
Cookies that you have previously accepted can easily be deleted. If you use a PC with a newer browser, you can delete your cookies using the shortcut keys: CTRL + SHIFT + Delete.
If the shortcut keys do not work and/or you are using a Mac, you must first identify which browser you are using and then click the relevant link:
